Network or Homegroup

I want my two computers to be networked, that is talking and sharing files and printers either through NETWORK or HOMEGROUP. I had both in Windows 7. Under Homegroup the computers were listed as "OTTILIEGIRL(PATSDESKTOP)" & OTTILIEGIRL(PATSPURPLEPC). I have joined the Homegroup on both computers but they only show as "OTTILIEGIRL". then underneath it lists the two computers. However, there is no option to get into C:/ or User: Ottiliegirl on the other computer. The only options are document, pictures ,music or videos. Does Home Group run differently in Windows 10? What am I missing?
I hope I explained everything clearly. Thank you for your help!

BTW - I will be adding a third computer in a few weeks that I will also want in the group.
