Network problems after Anniversary Update

I have recently downloaded the Windows 10 Anniversary update both to my desktop and to my laptop computer. Ever since, I have had trouble accessing LibreOffice files on the desktop from the laptop (they are shown as locked for editing by an unknown user) and have been unable to save files of any sort from the laptop to the desktop. I have found a very short-term solution by leaving the HomeGroup on my laptop and immediately rejoining it. Files become accessible again but only until I log off; once I log on again the problem returns. I have just recently bought a W10 tablet and I have no trouble accessing the desktop from that, so the problem must lie with the laptop.

I suppose I could always roll back to the earlier build on the laptop but could anyone suggest an alternative solution to the problem, please?
