Hi. Not sure if I should have posted this in problems with Windows updates. Please advise if I should repost it.

I have a 8 year old MESH desktop with an AMD mother board (Phenom ii) and on board ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics which runs my 22" Iiyama monitor at 1920 x 1080. The most recent windows Creator updates replace the 8.970.100.9001 13/1/2015 driver with a 22.19.128.0 25/7/2017 driver which can't run my monitor anyway near 1920x1080 and is hard to look at.
I have W10 Home edition and I've tried several ways of stopping the update overwriting the driver to no effect.
Does anybody have an effective way of stopping W10 (with my edition) overwriting the 2015 driver or replacing the 2017 driver with the 2015 driver after the windows Creator update? I've been going back to the previous version up to now but the update process is getting persistent.

I have the same 2015 drivers for my ATI Radeon 2400 HD on the latest Win10 Insider Preview Version 1709 Build 17083, don't see any issue yet. Because I have 4 computers [Win10RTM, Win10IP, Linux Mint, WinXP] on a KVM with a 21" monitor I run 1440x900 resolution and 125% for a bit larger text and icons.

Do a search for the Windows Hide Tool. Download and install it. Then you can use that tool to keep a Windows update from downloading and installing.

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately the display driver does not show up when I ran the Hide Tool either when I was in version 1607 or when I updated to 1709. I couldn't uninstall the 2017 display driver when I updated to 1709 anyway, as it did not show up as a separate install in Programs/View Installed Updates.
The good news is, as I was going about trying to uninstall the driver update in 1709, at a resolution that did not fit my monitor, my screen went black and came back at 1920x1080 resolution!!!!
