Hi corvairbob,

I wouldn't give anyone the steam off of my head on a cold day, I use the on-board Windows Defender and it does a good job, I have not had any problems and it doesn't get in my way!. :) Others on the forum use Malwarebytes as well, I don't bother myself!. :) (Free and pay versions available!) ;).

Despite what you may read about AV apps around the web, I find WD a very good product, there are several products out there that are a scam, read about the app before you decide to install it, some want money before they even start working correctly and there are still no bets as to whether or not it will work correctly!. ;)

I wouldn't pay money for it. If you're a very careful web surfer, then Windows Defender is ok. It isn't nearly as good as Avast or Bitdefendter, but in it a pinch will do.
