Phantom icon

Hi. I am Geri R, in Ft Myers, Fl.

I periodically get a 3"x 6" Black Icon, in the middle of the screen, that says 'Volume
on top and 1440x900-60Hz on the bottom.'

I cannot move it or delete it. It stays on for a minute, I cannot do anything, as I cannot see behind it.
It disappears for a minute then returns, over and over. again and again. etc

No information about the computer.....
Desktop, Laptop, All In One, tablet, ?????

It sounds a bit like you are using a monitor with build in speakers and you are see a typical power on, On Screen Menu for you to perhaps set some configuration settings on the monitor itself.
It sound like the connection to the system GPU would love to use a more robust graphics settings
BUT
That's just me guessing
Generally monitors come with touch buttons that allow you to make some basic adjustments and then save them as your preferred settings.

No idea why it would keep re-appearing.
Does this commonly happen after the system has been powered down for a while?
