Physical Memory - 2GBs?

I have an Intel i5 system with 4GB memory. Both Win 8.1 and 10 on this system show 2GB of memory as Hardware Reserved. Is there a way to check as to what BIOS or driver is eating so much memory?

When in task manager, click Resource Monitor at the bottom. This will give you more details about what is using your RAM.

Think after nearly 3.5 years the OP is still around? Always check the thread dates to assure relevance/currency.

Actually your suggestion missed a step, in Task Manager the Resource Monitor is on the Performance tab.

The older threads are always available once they have been posted which is why the dates of the postings are important. The OP/Original Poster may have found a fix for a problem or junked/replaced the computer or moved on to other things or places. The OP may never visit again after all that, we don't know.

As far as finding older threads a Search for a term may find a number of postings. And then there's the Unanswered Threads in the links at the top.
