SOLVED printer

Well, first step is to turn on the printer and ensure it is plugged in. Physically check both ends. Then attempt to print something. Just right click on my post and select print. On the screen you see, look for the Destination block near the top. If you do not see your printer there then you must click on Change. Then look for your printer and click on it. If you do not see it you must type it into the Search Destinations block at the top. Make and model series should do it. That's it.

Canon hasn't released a driver for that since Windows 7, however..........
Windows 10 apparently has native driver support. You just need to click the Windows Update button when installing the printer driver.
