Hi,

I was trying to move files from my SSD (C:\) to my HDD (D:\). I unwittingly moved the location of the desktop file to D:\, and now I can't separate the two, and all of my HDD files are shown on my desktop. How do I separate the two, and get the desktop file within D:\, not as the D:\. Is it even possible?

Thanks,
Nick

This will probably duplicate your D:\ onto your SSD, but maybe this would work:
If it's not already there, create C:\Users\user\Desktop
Use file explorer to navigate to C:\Users\user
Right-click on Desktop and on the menu click Properties > Location tab
Click on the "Restore Default" button -or- enter "C:\Users\username\Desktop" in the box.

It did try to duplicate my D:\ onto my SSD, which couldn't work due to a lack of data. It would not let me separate the two, so in the end, I backed up the files I needed, and factory reset my computer, which solved my problem. Not the easiest solution, but it was a solution nonetheless.

Thanks for your help wegmand!
