Could we define your situation a little more? You have an SD card placed in a Reader.

When you insert the card what happens, Is the card recognized by W10?

Can you see the files you want to copy over?

What happens when you try to access the card?

If the card is not being recognized, there is a special situation with some Card Readers where removing the media with a Safe Removal may cause the Reader to have problems.
