The Seach function is often disabled randomly, especially when I shut down the system and turn it on again later. It also happens when the system wakes up from Hibernation. Any ideas as to this behavior will be very much appreciated. Many thanks...

Check device manager, expand network adapters, right click each individually and select the power management tab and uncheck the box that says something like, "Allow computer to turn off this device to save"
Likewise you may want to check your advance power options if you're using a wireless adapter set to max performance.
