Hi

both my partner and I have iphone 5s we've both backed our photo's up on the same windows 10 pc but it's merged everything according to date. Is there a simple way to separate the photos into two distinct folders?

Thanks

Nothing simple or automated that I know of.
I'm not overly fond of the new "Photo" app and the way it attempts to be helpful when organizing my images.
What you might consider doing to make your life a bit easier.....
Go into Settings -> Devices -> AutoPlay (from left column)
Select the individual devices (hopefully it's identifying each iPhone as a separate device), use the drop down and select "Open device to view files (File Explorer)"
Then use drag and drop to copy or move the image files on your phone into the container (directory or sub-directory) of your choice on your computer.
