Sign On

For the last three days when I sign on I get the message "Preparing Windows". Then when the Desktop pops up, none of my settings have been saved and whether I use Google Chrome or Windows Edge it thinks it is the first time I have signed on and takes me the set up page. Most of my folders are empty and all of my Pictures saved to my Nikon program are gone. My Toshiba laptop was upgraded to Windows 10 about 2 weeks ago and this is the first problem I have had with it.
