Startup menu options just run a zip program...

I have just upgraded to Windows 10. It took a little while to find the control panel option (right clicking on the start menu), but when I select it, a zip program is run. This happens with other menu choices from this menu. If I run the zip program it falls over due to a directory problem. I therefore cannot run the control panel from this menu.

What's going on? How can I remedy this? It seems surprising that with a new installation basic menu choices behave like this.

I tried this and it still just runs a zip program.

then uninstall the zip program.

Thanks, this seems to have worked OK.

But I am surprised this problem was never detected in testing.

This might be a bug with the third-party zip program.
