Please help me to get rid of Start up menu item.
It is Canon Camera Windows DC7 Uninstall .
It starts up so the exe still exists somewhere not removed (no idea what it is called) starts up with an error that it can not find the missing uninst.ini (everything else including this one was already removed)
I have no idea what file actually contain the Startup menu items, where is this menu list, and how it can be deleted-edited out and with what.
Thank you in advance

Hi Tony,

Try pressing Windows key + R to open the run dialog
  • In the run dialog type the following:
Code:
shell:startup

Click OK

That will take you to the Startup folder where this camera executable may be residing.

Let us know how you go, as there may be a Registry entry that needs removing.

You could also try Settings - Apps and see if it exists there. If so, left click and see if it offers the uninstall in the drop down box.
Also, a slightly different presentation from that offered by Regedit. Right click the task bar -then task manager.
click the startup tab and see if there is anything significant there.

Thanks.
It got me to desktop.ini
file content
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787

Have no idea what next with this dll file.

This entry is not listed in the Windows uninstall option for CameraWindow DC7.
Regedit has Canon entries in all /software/ but I do have over a dozen of Canon programs including CameraWindow DC8.
Problem is that registry keys do not show the version numbers.
