It's been telling I need to restart to complete this update for the past 4 days. I restarted many times.... any fix?

You are not receiving any error messages with numbers or messages as to the situation?

Can you describe your system and how you got Win 10?

no errors that I'm aware of, not unless I need to check another place other than the update window. I did the Win 8 to Win10 way back when first released by download and all updates until today show installed.

On another note when I command "winver" it shows a old email address I nolonger use. Is there a way to update this and is it used for any reason by MS with the old address.

With winver I don't show any e-mail addresses. Your Microsoft account is an e-mail address so maybe you should go there and correct your profile. I assume you are activated with a Microsoft account?

If the update shows on the View Updates page as "failed", you may be able to get a link from that.

I don't have any failed updates. I updated my MS email addresses over a year ago when I closed the old email address account

I haven't had a windows computer since xp. just like I remembered. spending about as much time trying to fix things as I am actually doing things! welcome back to windows...now I'll wait for someone to tell me to do a fresh install of the operating system. boy is that fun...

sorry about the salt. just to clarify...
bought the hp computer about a week ago, refurbished. it probably had window 8 on it. now has windows 10 pro.
I have on board graphics. I get no error message, just the repeated request to restart the computer to finish the install.

2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4088776) asking for restart every time I rebooted

I had the same problem and ended up calling support. It took several days but they did fix it for me. They said that it is an ongoing problem that will be fixed one day

wait until you get to this one:
2018-03 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4089848). First it installed successfully on 03/22/2018 then tried to install this one again and again but failed (3 times). then on 04/04/2018 it installed successfully again.... wonder when it will try to update to this one again even though I have the 16299.334 running since it updated the FIRST TIME....
