Trying to enter pin, only accepts numbers

Windows restarted last night. Laptop powers off when lid closed. This morning powered on, have sign in box. It won’t accept letters at all, but will
Let me type in numbers.

A PIN is just numbers (Personal Identitifcation Number) so I’m confused as to why you’re trying to enter letters.
To enter your password there should be a link underneath the box to change between PIN, password & any other method (fingerprint, facial recognition).
