I have a Windows 7 32 bit Dell Desktop Computer, two HP Elite book 8460 64 bit laptops, one being a Windows 10 Pro and the other a Windows 7 Pro.
I am able to share files, printers and other devices between the Windows 7 computers with no problem.
However, when I attempt to do the same with Windows 10, even after checking "properties" to make sure that "sharing" is enabled, I keep getting an error message from Windows Security that says I need to provide my "network essentials".
I provided the information but was told it was incorrect.
My question to you is, what do I have to do in order to gain access to my Windows 7 computers from the Windows 10 computers?
This has never been a problem until I installed Windows 10 on my laptops.

You will need "credentials" for a user on the computer hosting the shares, that has access on that computer to those shares, and....
You will need to enter them in a format that includes that machine name, as in
MachineNameWhereSharesReside\UserNameOnThatMachine

Win7DellDesktop\UserName
