My laptop's manufacturer explicitly says they wont make drives available. The laptop works fine but is bloated. So while re-installing Win 10, the installer asks for a driver which it doesnt specify. Here's the screenshot. How to back up existing drivers and use those while installing?

It's been my understanding over the years that hardware manufacturers submit drivers to Microsoft for inclusion in Windows which is installed by those makers for setting up Windows. But Microsoft may include generic drivers to enable basic functions. The process has been simpler even thought technology has progressed since the days of MS-DOS 5 and Windows 3.1 when I started in a computer store in '94 and building/repairing computers and having to swap floppy disks when installing.

If I couldn't get newer features to work in Windows due to hardware drivers not being available for support I'd change manufacturers/brands.

Your laptop has a storage controller for which Windows 10 Setup cannot find a driver. Visit manufacturer site and look for Windows 8 64-bit or Windows 7 64-bit drivers. You need the storage driver. If it is a compressed .zip file, extract the contents in a folder. If it is an executable .exe file you can extract the contents with WinRAR or other suitable utility. Copy the folder with the storage drivers in the USB flash drive you have created to install Windows 10. Next time you see that screen browse to the folder. Once the drivers are loaded, Windows Setup should display your disk. I recommend to delete all partitions and click next to proceed. Windows Setup will automatically create the partitions for you.

PS: Any Windows Vista or 7 or 8 driver works on Windows 10 and 11. Of course the newer the better, but if your system is old enough that doesn't have Windows 10 drivers, download the earlier Windows drivers. The exception is Intel graphics Windows 7 drivers that are locked by Intel to work only in Windows 7 (install fails in newer versions). For some of them there are custom hacked versions that bypass Intel's restriction and can be installed on Windows 8/10/11.
