Hello everyone,,

So, my PC is having issues and I’ve decided on a clean install. I feel like some of those issues were attributed to me not configuring and setting up windows properly, like for example, my audio driver was not working properly.

Can someone recommend the steps I should take with installing drivers, disabling Windows 10 junk etc? Most YouTube videos I’ve watched have comments saying that the methods on there are flawed and done by people who don’t know what they’re talking about..

First you need to create a medium you are gong to install from (DVD or Flash drive). This can be done using the Media Creation Tool you can download from the Microsoft website:

Second, you need to go to the manufacturers website of your computer and download/save all pertinent drivers you will need.

then you can start from the install medium, deleting all on your hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch.
I myself however would do it a slight different way: I would get myself a SSD of appropriate size and start installing on that. That way you always can fall back to the old system in case something goes wrong. SSD's are not that expensive anymore.
NOTE: you have to install the same flavor (Home edition or pro edition) as you had before. You cannot change between them without purchasing a license. If you had Windows 10 already on your computer, you can skip the input of the serial key as you PC is already registered with a hardware token on MS Servers.

There are many instructional posts here in the forum, one in particular is here:
