Win 10 and hot spot

I have a friend whose hotspot connected to his PC at my house, which is in town, but when he took it a rural areas he cannot connect. Any ideas?

If Internet is routinely required in rural/remote locations might check Satellite service and devices as used in motorhomes and travel trailers, not cheap.

A hotspot is just a cell phone with out all the phone stuff. It (hotspot) connects the same way a cell phone does by connecting to the mobile towers. If the cell phone has a weak connection so will the hotspot. No way around that.

It may also depend on the security of the available WiFi hotspots, some are free and some (most) aren't!.

If you don't know the security PW for an available connection, it ain't gonna happen unless you are good at hacking and have plenty of time!. ;)
