Every day or two my Win 10 computer suddenly stops working properly. If I click on an icon, it opens the properties box, but does not open the document or application. If a dialog box is open, the keyboard will open menu selections, but will not send text to any box or document.
Today, when this happened, I tried rebooting, but that did not correct the problem. Then I did a total shutdown, with power off and held the start button down to drain capacitors. After that, I restarted and the problem was gone.
I have no idea how to stop this or even how to figure out what is causing it. Any suggestions?
My computer consists of a Haswell i7 on a Gigabyte board, with 16GB RAM. I upgraded from Win 8.1 to Win 10 in mid-December. This problem has only been around for the past 8-10 days (I think).
