I tried everything again and still no signal.
It could be a faulty M board.
If that's the case, then for sure it won,t be until way after Xmas
before i buy another one.
This has now become a big waste of time and a headache.

That Gigabyte mobo should have 2 years of warranty AND they are reliable. I think that you must be in a different time zone from me, UK possibly? The joking recommendation is that you don't need a PC shop you need a 12 year old kid!

So.
The six or 8 little wires and pins from the case switches and lights. You are sure they are in correctly? Did you use that plug that comes with the mobo and plug them into that and then plug that in? The case power light comes on?

Both of the power plugs are in on the mobo? ( Big one and the smaller 6 pin one. Does the CPU fan and a case fan come on when you power up with the front panel switch. Does the Mobo show a green LED when the PC plugged into the wall with the power supply switch on but not the front panel switch? Or the row of LEDs around the back? All mobos now consume a tiny bit of power even when 'off' and show an LED to warn people against plugging in cards while there is power.

Keyboard and mouse plugged in?

As for the monitor HDMI plus are notoriously unreliable a very bad design but they usually work well enough to see something.

My approach to this would be to lay out the monitor, kb/mouse/ and the PC on a table with the PC flat and the case side off so everything is easily visible.

I would say the mobo is fried.
it's been sitting in a box, unopened for a year.
I didn't register it online , so i doubt i have a warranty left.
As for lights or anything else,
when i turn the power on
all 3 system fans , CPU, DVD-r, front panel and
hook ups all work.
too bad i can't send you a few pics from the inside of my PC.

Have you been through the monitor's own menu? You said you have on old PC. Does the monitor work on that? It would be nice to know if the monitor works. Does the monitor on the old PC have connectivity ( by which I mean a connection type in common with the new PC) with the new PC, have you tried that?

Do you get any beeps when you power everything on?

Well ,I did it,
Won 10 is installed.
However, I have to
Install GPU card.
Resolution is at around
800× 600
SOMETHING like that.
I can't seem to find
Properties.
Right click, no properties
To set resolution.
GPU, that's what I need.
We'll , I guess I should
Install moBo dis to get
Drivers.
Or did windows10 do that
Already?

Great. Ok now:
remove the Windows DVD and reboot.
When it comes up; run Windows update. See what you get. You may get a cumulative update.

Run Winver and report on the version number. should be 1607.393.51

Then shut down, pull out the power plug. Install the graphics card. Plug the monitor into the graphics card

Reboot. Run Windows update. You could well see a graphics driver installing. and you might need to reboot again. either way you should be able to adjust the screen resolution by right clicking on the display somewhere.

Now load and run the Mobo DVD. Load any chip drivers but don't load anything else ( in my opinion anyway) anything else on that disk will be 2 years out of date!!!!!

You'll need to reboot now.

Now set up whatever mail, browser etc that you want to use.

I'll be here all day so post as things happen.

The Windows disk install will have looked at your CPU and installed 64 bit. You, your cpu and your motherboard all want 64 bit.

If you couldn't get online how are you downloading the GPU drivers.? Have you installed the card?

How do you get online? Ethernet through a router to an ISP ?

You want your network to be set as 'private'

Don't have to spend

Being on Disability
Does not allow me that
Option .

Next question.
When inserting
MoBo disk, will it take me
To the bios or something
Other than the
Desktop?
I guess I can always
Access it in,"my computer"
In my DVD drive.
Correct?

The MOBO disk will, I think, give you a menu of things you can load. Motherboard drivers are all you want as that disk is 2 years out of date if you bought the mobo 2 years ago. The mobo disk may Autorun and present the menu or you may have to click on the DVD drive in File Explorer and run setup or some similar name.

OK. Are you online with mail or still using your phone? Obviously you have got uptodate GPU drivers now. The OS should look like a proper PC now.

Are you logging on to this machine with a password? If so, is that a Microsoft Account?

We would go faster if you answer my questions!

I am logging in to my machine,
but , I think I may have to
create a Microsoft account.

I'll be watching my 1St movie very shortly.

I still have a few tweaks here and there,
like my email accounts, etc..
still trying to find out where everything is.
Found where I can change resolution,
Finally.

So what do you plan to do next.

I would get email working. Some people have trouble with W10 email.
Then my favorite browser which would not be Edge quite yet
and of course Anti-virus. I am happy with Windows defender but many dont like it/trust it.

Just seen your latest message.

I am happy with using a Microsoft accoun t but many people dislike it.
The resolution you want is the native one for your display.

Anyway It all looks like a satisfactory ending.

I'm sticking with my Gmail and outlook accounts.
Can't remember the native display.
Got a look it up.
well, that's it for me, pizza time.

However , I may still need a little help here and there, just for the first few days.
