Win10 search box partially working

The windows 10 search box (My Stuff & Web) opens ok and brings up options against a typed in search keyword(s) BUT when an option is selected nothing happens, just returns to the open screen before the search was typed in. Any help to fix would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello bill and welcome to the forum.
Not sure what might be going on, but....
I might suggest testing the problem with a new user account.
Create a new local user, as a member of the local administrators group (not a standard user).
Log off as you and log on as the new user.
See if the problem persists.
At least that might suggest if the problem is global or unique to your profile only.
