Buffering is a term generally applied to live streaming of internet content.
Which is generally dependent on your connection speed.
Who is your provider? What bandwidth are you paying for?
What bandwidth are you getting

Are you using an Ethernet cable or wireless?
IF wireless, try with a cable if at all possible.

Media Player doesn't work correctly on Windows 10. My problems started immediately after upgrading to Win10 from Win7. Spent dozens of hours reading forums, running troubleshooter, etc. I give up. Will consider alternate OS <sigh>.

Media Player doesn't work on other OS's. Try using an alternate player, (ie: VLC, Potplayer, etc)

I have Windows 10 on 2011 Dell i3 desktop, 6gb memory, 1.27mbps wired Ethernet ($65/mo small local DSL phone company). I’m currently streaming CNN on one EDGE tab, typing this post in MS Word, and have Windows10forum on another EDGE tab, with no buffering on CNN – YouTube Live.

Correction my DSL + required landline (nobody needs landline since most have cell phones) is $68.16/mo. I can't stream HD with 1.27mbps wired DSL; but it's not bad. My Roku streams Netflix pretty good on my 40-inch Sony HDTV, no buffering at all. I could have HD streaming (10mbps), but that would cost $83.16/month.

Can someone please tell me why my computer buffers quite a bit after installing Windows 10?

I discovered an issue last week as a group of friends were try to watch a movie using Xfinity web site with an xfinity account. It was buffering heavily in Chrome and Edge but when I selected open with IE the movie played with no buffering.
