I would like to log on to my new computer and stay logged on until I log off or reboot

I would suggest that you
1. clear the check box in your screen saver settings "On resume, display logon screen"
AND
2. change the box in your advanced power plan settings "Require a password on wakeup" from "yes" to "no".
And maybe, if at all possible, perhaps try being a little bit more verbose in your next post as to the details of your "?"
