Windows 7professional upgrade

I have upgraded from Windows 7 professional and it seems to have upgraded OK. However i cannot boot up the windows logo comes on and then the welcome screen and finally the black screen with the pointer and then nothing I have tried to restart and the same happens. Can anyone help

Can you use Ctrl + Alt + Delete keyboard combination to produce a screen that will allow you to launch Task Manager?

My exact problem last night. Unplugging my wifi adapter allowed logon. But when I plugged it back in to enable online connection I needed a reboot and was right back to the stuck logon screen that eventually goes black. I again unplugged the wifi adapter and went into ten and rolled back to 7.
