Windows broke my GF's Lenovo?

So we got a Lenovo desktop a little over a year ago. It's not used for much other than playing Gears of War and Diablo. She doesn't use it for net browsing. Yesterday we downloaded the newest Windows update and!!!!!!!..... no longer starts up. Can't even boot into a safe mode or anything. The drive turns on and then.... black. It's either the update or the Lenovo shitputer. Ideas?

take a look at the following link and the part about creating a bootable media stick/DVD, create new media nd boot from that and use the recovery options and/or upgrade if you can:
