Windows ten loads well on one but not the other

On the 29th I had the automatic download for Windows 10 to my Dell laptop Latitude. I have had nothing but issues with the start menu and can't reach explorer. I have tried any number of suggestions from the forums and could not return to my original Wndows 7 by the restore as the files for some reason were missing. (So I bit the bullet and re-loaded Windows 7 and lost all my data other than that saved on a portable hard drive. I have spent the day placing my software back on it.

I downloaded the same windows 10 to my older Acer aspire which was less sophisticated, and it runs like a champ and has since August 2. For the life of me I can't figure out why. I am sure Windows 10 is terrific but it has been nothing but a pain for me.

Unless you say what issues you had we can't comment. And there was no task bar with the explorer icon??
