I am getting confused as to connecting wirelessly these days. Intel seems to say they no longer support WiDi and I have seen some folks say the WiDi software has been removed from their systems.

When you select Project from the notifications panel, can you click on the Connect to a wireless display and see the Intel device?

I just checked mine and it sees the Netgear wireless display. I was always under the impression the wireless display talked directly to your system and not through a router.

If that were to be the case perhaps the wireless adapter ismimporant and which capabilities it has. I have been WiDi to work in the past but never Miracast. Now I am not sure which wireless version we are using or what the Miracast requirements are, I did know the WiDi requirements.

Edit: I found this site which lists equipment, if it helps..

I believe miracast is not supported anymore.my old computer says it is not capable of projecting. no wireless capability. I just wonder why if the wireless router transmits to kindle and another lap top why it wouldn't work on tv. maybe I'm spinning my wheels and need a new pc just so i can stream from the internet.

I just checked my ASUS system with NVIDIA video and onboard wireless. It found the Netgear device (PTV3000) which is both WiDi and Miiracast capable.
