I bought 2 USB3 express cards each with 2 ports
1 branded startech $60 bought in Aus
1 no brand from china $10

both cards do not need a driver for windows 10 and work fine
both cards are supplied with drivers for win 7 and 8

both cards unable to boot from in win 7-8 and 10

both cards in win 10 the card must be inserted before booting the computer
if removed or inserted the card the computer must be rebooted
hold the card so it can't slip out

both in win 7 a supplied driver must be installed but the card can be removed and inserted with no problem

only use the drivers supplied with the card as they use a different chip

so the difference between a brand an no brand card is only the money $50

good news. I have win7 expresscards for usb-3, firewire, 400 and 800 as well as pccard to express adaptor. work easily in win7 but any concerns of going to windows 10 ? All came with drivers from china.
I'm sure there will be a usb-c express out shortly even though its at the old speed.( ie display port plug).

have you tried the usb-c express card from Starxxx. ? Any issues under win10 ?
I have win7 on a few notebooks with express cards from china working great with the drivers . Like to stay with notebooks and express cards if win10 supports all .
