Hi

On start up of my Sony Vaio I get 4 separate but identical screens in the four quadrants of the screen. See attachment

Sony say this is a software problem. Me, I'm not so sure

Any suggestions?

Try to download the proper video drivers for your laptop from the Sony site. If that doesn't fix the issue then I am afraid you might have a bad graphics chip. I found this thread which discusses a bad chip.

Tx for link. Probably is a hardware problem

The way the 4-screens problem manifested itself was that I got 4 screens when starting up the computer most frequently (say about three out of four starts). If I kept starting up then switching off, the computer eventually started normally (1 screen). I have managed the problem by setting the computer to 'Sleep' rather than turning it off. It always starts normally from the sleep mode
