ASUS laptop GTX 960 GPU dissappears

Asus N501VW W10 with latest updates. Does not recognize Nvida GE Force GTX960 display adapter in Dev Manager or Nvida control panel. Originaly GTX 960 showed in DevManager only was grayed out showing code 45 not connected. Following earlier post I uninstalled non connected GTX960 and downloaded latest driver from NVIDA (466.27) NVIDA driver install failed saying incorrect driver. Any suggestions?
