Buffering issues

Since my last upgrade watching video clips has become a challenge. I can watch the first 20 or so seconds of the clip and after that is wait, wait, wait, watch, wait, wait wait, wait, watch and so forth.
What can I do to rectify this fault ?

What client are you viewing the videos in when you experience lag?

• Windows Media Player?
• Something else?

Or are you having this trouble only when viewing videos on a browser? If yes, which browser?

• Microsoft Edge
• Internet Explorer 11
• Mozilla Firefox
• Chrome
• Something else?

Still a problem! I had no trouble on Windows 7. Immediately after upgrade to Win10 playback randomly stops functioning for remote and local content. It's not specific to one encoding (MPEG2/MP4) and I haven't changed any hardware, It's an issue Microsoft.
