Hi all, my first post, no doubt not my last, I'm using Win 8.1, I have downloaded ISO to a usb stick, hopefully correctly(18Mbs). Can I load the ISO onto an external HD and run W10 via usb3 port?? thanks, roy

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I think you'll find that as a general rule and concensus, Microsoft does not support the installation of their Operating Systems on what would normally be considered "removable media", with the exception of Windows To Go which they suggest only be used with their Enterprise version.
There are a number of suggested work arounds on the net but they've always seemed to me, to be overly complicated and hardly worth the bother.
I guess if you are determined enough you might have a look around

OR in the case of Windows To Go

There are probably many others. None of which I've personally tried although someone else may have first hand experience.

Many thanks for your welcome, I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth all this bother, I had win 10 in Nov but an update virtually uninstall the program, so I finished it for them, I've still got a few days to think about it. Thanks again for your help, and suggestions, roy
