As an update: I uninstalled update KB 3206632 and restarted the computer and everything works fine. Is there any way to stop the update from installing again?
Not easily but Microsoft does make a tool that will allow you to at least temporarily target a specific update and defer it for a time.
It's called wushowhide.diagcab
And the link to that is at the bottom of this page

Look up the error message. I had something similar on my mothers PC. The error message led me to deleting the logs and install files. I did that and it went through fine the next time.

Well, I finally took the step and reinstalled Windows 10 on my productive system. So far everything works again, a few tweaks need still to be done but I am up and running again with all my programs reinstalled.
