Display adapter mis-identified - leads to BSOD

I upgraded an AMD APU A8-5600K (CPU+GPU combo) based system from Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 to Windows 10 Pro. It BSOD'ed with the dreaded SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. Since there is no Windows 10 driver for A8-5600K, I installed a graphic card based on AMD Radeon HD6570, for which a Windows 10 driver is available. In Windows 7, the system correctly identifies it and all goes on well. But the exact same problem happens when I re-installed Windows 10.

When I boot 10 into Safe Mode, I found the Radeon HD6570 was identified as AMD Radeon HD 7500/7600 Series. Also, the Windows 10 driver for the correct adapter (amd-catalyst-15.7.1-win10-64bit.exe, which I had downloaded earlier) would not install in Safe Mode. So I am really stuck.

Any help to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated.
