Does anyone have information on files ending with .ppwritelock?

I'm trying to delete some files but keep getting the message "The action can't be taken because the file is open in PaperPort." Opening the files in PaperPort doesn't work, as it says the file is open in another program. Using the command prompt with "del /F path\filename" doesn't work either. Please advise.
