Hi Gabriela,
Welcome to the forum.
Are you able to let us know what e-mail client you are using which you are unable to download attachments from?
- Windows Live Mail?
- Outlook?
- Windows 10 Mail app?
- Something else?
If it is attachments within a Browser you cannot download then which Browser are you using?
- Microsoft Edge?
- Internet Explorer 11?
- Firefox?
- Google Chrome?
- Something else?
You mentioned TWINUI. This is an acronym for Tablet Windows User Interface. It is not actually a program but rather a Library (.DLL) file found in C:\Windows\System32 folder. This Library file can be called on when you click a link on a website or inside an email, or in your case an attachment. When called TWinUI will call a function which itself will call an actual application to either open, save, copy or delete a attachment.
In the event you have some form of Registry corruption you may notice in your Settings window if you try to view Default apps that they are all TWinUI rather than for example, Adobe PDF, or a particular Browser, or a particular Email client. You could confirm that by clicking
Start > the Settings icon > System > then in the
left pane clicking Default apps.
It would be helpful to know upon doing that whether you see various default apps listed or just a long list of TWinUI instead as that would give a clue to an issue that needs addressing.
