Haven't actually seen anything like that, but......
Check your Startup tab in taskmanager. (Right click the taskbar and choose Task Manager, select the Start Up tab and see what's there.
Also you might want to check the Services tab in msconfig check the box that says hide all Microsoft services and look through what remains and see if anything there looks suspicious
