Hi Alan,

go into advanced startup options and run the troubleshooter. :)

The cab archive that it is complaining about is just a remnant of a previous update that has not been deleted. I do not think this is your problem. Proceed as @Wolfie suggests....

Hi Alan,

can you do a roll back on the updates you did?. Have you considered a system reset?.

If you do a reset, make a back up of all your important files (pics, docs etc). You can re-install multiple apps using the following website.

Firstly, I would suggest that you consider an ssd drive (if you don’t have one) from a reputable manufacturer of a type 500GB or plus capacity (depends on your budget?) as that could be your Sony Vaio’s “Its very slow to start” problem also you could look at updating the ram to more capacity. Please note that the “42127 Errors” can be related to corrupt or outdated device drivers. Drivers can work one day, and suddenly stop working the next day, for a variety of reasons. The good news is that you can often update the device driver to fix the Error 42127 problem.

Also, I would update to Win-10 (if you are running other OP system) and update/upgrade to the latest version 2004 OS build 19041.388 which is the latest as the v2004 is an exceptional Win-10 version right across the board, both speed wise and driver update wise, that will fix all your “Error 42127” problem up.
