Hi, hopefully someone can advise me regarding failed updates. I downloaded Windows 10 on the 29th July, I just checked to see if there were any important updates and it seems that I have 5 failed upgrades to Windows 10. Error Code 80240020. I am not technically minded, does this mean that I don't actually have Windows 10? Thanking you in advance for any help or advice.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
There is a so called fix around the web which some have reported "worked for them" while still other reported it having no affect.
80240020 error
This error means the download is corrupted in some way.
1. Go into "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download" and delete everything in that folder.
2. Now, run the command prompt as an administrator. Type in "wuauclt.exe /updatenow".
3. Go to your Control Panel > Windows Update and your Windows 10 will start downloading again..

Thank you, I will give that a try, failing that, the PC will be going out of the window.

I followed your instructions
They aren't actually my instructions, I borrowed them from a multitude of resources around the web.
As I said .... some say it worked for them, some not.
Sorry.

Hi again, just wanted to let you know that I have now successfully downloaded Windows 10. It was a bit hair raising at times as I am no computer buff, but I can make a mean apple pie lol.
