Apology if this has already been covered. Currently running Dell XPS420 on W10 Pro, version 1803, build 17134,407.

A common problem that I have is that File Explorer (windows explorer), often freezes up and occasionally I need to restart to reset it. Additionally, recently, upon opening File Explorer, and clicking on Downloads, downloads took a considerable period of time to open "Error:"working on it"

Any help appreciated.:(

The first thing I'd do is right-click the drive in question and choose Properties then the Tools tab, run Error Checking. After that I'd open Command Prompt as Administrator or PowerShell as Administrator and run sfc /scannow, check for errors. After that I'd open the same applet and run chkdsk /r or /f for a further check but if it's on the boot drive, usually C:, it will have to run after a reboot/restart, let it.
