Folders / documents not staying pinned.

When I pin a folder to the File Explorer folder that is pinned to my taskbar, once the computer is shut off the folder is not pinned in File Explorer upon the next start up. This is happening to Open Office Writer ( Apache ) also with documents that are pinned to the OOW icon that is pinned on the taskbar. I recently installed a SSD hardrive and upon reinstalling Windows 10 this problem has started ( all pinning was fine previously - all items pinned remained pinned after shut down/ start up ). Can not find solution online. Thanks for the help in advance.
