A gold lock is appearing in the bottom right hand tray and when this appears we cannot get on internet. Using IE or Chrome.
Windows 10. Have restored to prior date and everything back to normal for awhile and then it appears again. Checked event log and everything ok. IE or Chrome gives appearance of opening but then vanishes. Any ideas?

What happens when you double click that icon? I'm not familiar with it, but opening it up may give us a clue as to what it is. If that doesn't show anything, does hovering your mouse over it (or right clicking) display anything?

I don't know why it is showing in Chrome, but, maybe it has similar options to IE.
The gold lock is, normally, a setting in IE-Tools - Advanced. You could go to that section and, at the bottom, "Restore advanced setting", and see if the Lock disappears.
