is there a way to disable or not show any previous searches that have been performed for the windows explorer?

Yep, it is possible, but only in the "Pro" version as far as I know. Perhaps there is another way around it for the Home version.
  • Run "gpedit.msc" to load the group policy editor
  • Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components >File Explorer
  • Double click "Turn off display of recent search entries in the Windows Explorer search box"
  • Then switch it to "disabled" and click Apply/OK.

There is a tutorial to remove the Quick Access from the navigation pane.
Remove not disable.
It requires running regedit.
If you are comfortable and used to do registry editing, and you are willing to "remove" Quick Access, please post back.
