How to fix a Kernel-PnP 442?

My computer - Windows 10 - is not opening my external My Book WB Elements.
Classifies event as Kernel-PnP 442 on the first trial and the second time as Kernel-PnP 410.
Why is this happening? How can I fix it?
Appreciate your help. Thank you!

I assume you are seeing these events in the Event Viewer? If so, can you select one instance of each and copy and paste what it says?

If it is a Plug and Play situation, perhaps the drive is going to sleep or for some reason it is not being recognized.

Is your description of the drive the complete reference or is some model number associated with it. Looks like there were some updates for such devices at the end of June.
