I know this has been experienced by many. The only solutions I have found are quite involved for a non-IT professional. Is there anyone who has a solution to stopping this error from showing up on the Update page that is pretty straight forward? Thank you.

Have you tried this tool
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930
It's not likely a permanent fix but it might be worth a try.
Additionally, see what HP has available in the way of an updated driver for that printer.
Sometimes if you have the latest from the manufacturer, windows update won't go hunting on its' own.

Additionally, if you use Internet Explorer and go here
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=CM1410
you'll notice two drivers for that printer
12/17/2015 61.103.21.8726 for Windows 10
The larger of the two 13.3 MB is the 64 bit driver the smaller is 32 bit driver, be sure to get the proper one for your system architecture.
Perhaps manually installing them that way will get rid of the pending driver update thingy.

If you go into start
All Apps
Scroll down to the HP folder
Click on it
When it opens
Click Update
If there is any new updates they will install
Just checked mine they are all good
