I just found out that my dvd drive is not recognized since upgrading to win 10. I have a toshiba laptop and tried the troubleshooter but I didn't do any good. Is there a link I can go to get a fix?

Hello and welcome to the forum.
You can try, opening an Admin Command Prompt and in the command prompt window type

reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001
hit enter
type
exit
hit enter
Reboot.

See if that helps at all.

Hi Hugito,

remove the DVD drive (laptop switched off and not connected to power or battery), then boot the laptop once and shut it down, put back the DVD drive again and re-boot (again, laptop switched off and not connected to power or battery), it should help solve the problem for you?: :)

There should only be one or two retaining screws holding it in place!.
