SOLVED Lost permissions on new external HD

Added a new external hard drive a few days ago. I've been moving files over to it and saving to it with no trouble until today. Now it errors out when I try to open the drive or save to any folders. Here are the dialog boxes I get as I try to change permissions. My userid is listed as an administrator. TIA
