media player for windows 10

Downloaded VLC player but couldn't get it to work. Wouldn't let me open the file

I just installed VLC .
It opens and plays as it always did in the past.

Why not using the Windows Media Player which is included in Windows 10 ?
You can find it at All apps > and scroll down to alphabet W..............

Does it play Videofiles with the extension > xx.dvr-ms > too ?

PotPlayer is much sleeker and a nicer program than VLC imo...
and to answer your question about those files,no Media Player won't play them

I found that KODI is able to run under Windows 10, and it plays Videofiles with the extension < xx.dvr-ms > without problems.

Yes. Kodi (once XBMC) runs great and is a good substitute for the old Media centre.

My apologies that the syntax was a bit confusing,it should have read "no Windows Media player won't play them"...speaking specifically of Windows Media player but fully aware that many others if not all others will play them.
And thank you for the suggestion,Kodi is a great sub for Media Centre!
